Not too much time ago Sta Mònica cultural center, was ordered to be closed. Barcelonas government has a model: take the control, the space and the money. They are also thinking in do an artists card, as an identity card. The problem now is that there are many associations, which has lived all their lives taking subventions, help and money from the government, and now they are promoting cultural movements, only in order to follow the governments model and trying to keep control. Of course, some centers will want to realize this fucked card. This people is the same people that sits with governments. Institutionalized artists.

Cultura de Base is a great movement but there are inside the ones without the necessity of the fight, using the fight, energy and power of artists, but only in order to protect their interests. Inside this fight movement there are pollitical interests; like Associació d’artistes Visuals de Catalunya, that continues being the institutional face of an artist.
The second one is Hangar, with many interests similar as the government has. They have spaces reclaimed since the past for different independent associations like Can Ricart, for being an independent place of creation… And now is in their hands for continue promoting institutionalized art.

Is our fight but we need to know who they are.
